Millions of people take cruises1 each year; but when their cruises end, they usually return to their homes on land. Wouldn’t it be great if there were a cruise that never ended? That’s the basic idea behind a new ship called Freedom Ship. Unlike a cruise ship, Freedom Ship will be a floating2 city.

Freedom Ship will have 17,000 residential3 units. It will be home to more than 60,000 people, including residents and all of the ship’s staff. The floating city will travel to most of the Earth’s coastal areas. It will allow the residents to see the whole world without leaving their homes. All the ship’s staff would be given food, housing, uniforms, health care and a continuing education program. The ship would travel around the world once every two years and it has all of the things that any modern city might have, including a hospital, college and also one of the world’s largest shopping malls.
For entertainment, residents could visit one of the many restaurants, nightclubs and theaters. Residents would also enjoy tennis, basketball, bowling, swimming pools, gyms and fishing on the ship. Each home will have 100 channels of worldwide satellite TV channels and local programming from nearby countries. People will also surf the Internet.
However, Freedom Ship will be most likely to become a home for the rich and famous. It will be too expensive for an ordinary person.

Rosie Swale Pope is 61 years old. She is from the UK. She started her journey around the world on her cart in 2003 for a charity project. It took her 5 years to complete the 20,000-mile journey. It’s been a long journey, but it’s finally come to an end.
Rosie received a warm welcome as hundreds of people come to the roads and cheered for her as her journey came to an end.
Rosie described her journey as "just a fun run that’s gotten out of hand".
"It’s a journey that came out of sorrow, pain and heartache, but it’s a journey that has turned to joy. Thank you for the most beautiful welcome anyone could have. This is a dream that comes true, and I hope everyone’s dream will come true,"she added.
Rosie’s legs were in pain because they had been broken. She had to stay in the hospital when it happened.
She said that she hoped that the project would help people understand the importance of early cancer checks.
"My husband, Clive, died from cancer. This taught me more than anything about how important life is and how short it can be. You have to grab life, do what you can while you can, and try to give something back,"she said.
"If I can spread the message to people to get checked out, all this will have been worth it,"she added.
